These pin like holes are natural particualirties along with fissures. A second treatment must be\u00a0applied once the countertops have been installed as per instructed in the maintenance kit. With\u00a0<strong>normal<\/strong>\u00a0care and use it is unlikely you will ever stain your granite.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;What if I have stain on the granite?&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1636421079153-71898a26-76fc&#8221;][vc_column_text]Our installers have the knowledge and expertise to tackle most stains. An easy way to know when to seal it ? Sprinkle some water onto the countertop. If the droplets bead on the surface you are good to go. However if the colour of the granite darkens then it is absorbing the water. You need to seal your countertops.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Dows granite or quartz crack?&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1636421173131-b766bbb3-d371&#8243;][vc_column_text]Not generally. However, if the structural design of the cabinets is deficient then there is a risk for the countertops to develop cracks over time. It is important to make sure that the cabinets are structurally sound and level.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Is it possible to chip or scratch granite or quartz?&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1636421206197-40b99953-a242&#8243;][vc_column_text]Under normal care and use, both materials are scratch proof. However dropping heavy objects or pots and pans against the surface or particularly the edge of the countertops could chip the stone. Our installers have the knowledge and expertise to make the necessary repairs. When pricing any project we must consider the length and width of the counters along with the size of the slabs in stock. And, yes, adding a seam or two is sometimes unavoidable. In some cases we may have to add a seam to facilitate handling of the counters, i.e., elevators, narrow staircases, etc\u2026. We make sure to indicate the location of each seam on the drawing that is attached to the estimate you will be sent.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Will the seams show ?&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1636421369354-31a5047c-a1f1&#8243;][vc_column_text]It is impossible to make totally invisible seams, however Granit Plus makes it a point to make them as thin as possible. The result is a very thin line of less than 1\/16\u2033. Still too obvious ? This is especially true in renovation projects. If you have frame-type cabinets you will definitely need to reinforce them. On the other hand, if you have modular type cabinets it will not be necessary. You must also consider the type of edge you are looking for and the options and services you require.
