What is the difference between granite and quartz countertops ?
Its composition. Quartz slabs are made of more than 90% quartz crystals to which is added a mixture of polymer-based resin and colour pigments. The durability and resistance of the finished product is highly similar to the properties of granite.
Why pick quartz over granite ? For individual taste. Basically, quartz manufacturers are able to provide finer grain materials that are more consistent in terms of colour and grain dispersion. These products are available in a large selection of colours. past experience, we find that outdoor installation is not advisable.
Also, there are quartz with marbled effects, which is an excellent substitute for marbles, which are more difficult to maintain, more fragile and more expensive.
Quartz surfaces can be used for a large number of projects. However, in our experience, outdoor use is not recommended.
